Uncover how to cover-up skin imperfections

Uncover how to cover-up skin imperfections

Start by applying a concealer to any darkened or discoloured area, or deepened scar, but make sure not to use too much of the product, which can result in a caked-on effect. Use a makeup sponge and lightly blend the product into surrounding areas. Secondly, apply foundation in an even layer over your entire face, making sure to again blend the product to adjacent areas to avoid creating a noticeable line where the makeup ends. The third step is to use a matte powder to remove any shine and create an even-toned finished look. For best results, apply the powder with a large makeup brush or dab with a sponge. Interestingly, the best coverage for red scars is achieved with green coloured makeup - the green neutralizes the red. Not to worry, the concealer or foundation will provide additional camouflage, so the green won’t be noticeable. If you’re experiencing a flare-up of acne, you may want to use makeup to hide the blemishes during the day. To camouflage the lesions, apply a non-comedogenic sheer foundation and then use a matte powder to finish off - this will prevent a shiny appearance and even help absorb some of the excess oil that will form during the course of the day.
