Shaving myths

Shaving myths

Contrary to popular belief, shaving will not cause your hairs to grow back darker or thicker. They may look that way, particularly at first, but over time, you'll see that they have the same appearance and feel as the hairs that came before. More importantly, soothe and restore moisture to your skin immediately after shaving. Avoid potentially irritating products that contain alcohol and perfumes, as they can sting newly-shaven skin. Look for an oil-free moisturizer to soothe and protect just-shaved areas - this is especially recommended for the face, where excess oils or ingredients that clog pores can aggravate existing acne lesions or trigger an outbreak. Try using an exfoliating product once a week to accelerate the shedding of dead skin cells and open up the pores of your skin to get a closer shave.
